As the college admissions process and college recruiting intensifies each year, many student-athletes may find that their probability of getting into the college of their choice will increase by taking a Gap-Year.
Gap-Year (as well as Post-Grad or PG) Programs are very common on the East Coast, offered by prestigious schools like Philips Andover, Exeter Academy, Blair and Cushing Academy. A year spent on academic and athletic development with structured independence usually means a more prepared collegiate student-athlete. College recruiters and admissions officers recognize that the Gap-Year or PG offers many benefits to both the college and the student-athlete.
